Seb Roberts
A Brief History
Seb Roberts has a habit of being hard to pin down.
Born of the Canadian prairies, tempered by American east coast, ripened by years on the road, and seasoned by all the sounds he sponged up along the way, he's played in nine bands and self-released as many albums (though almost every one under a different moniker).
He's well-liked by those who know him, and is otherwise regarded with some suspicion.
Seb is currently at work on the full length successor to 'Exit Strategy'

Reviews

"`Roll Deep` combines the unlikely elements of Sonic Youth and Tangerine Dream sounding like both something from `Dirty` and the soundtrack to `Risky Business`. `Embedded` is a comfortable yet wholly uncomfortable two minute sonic outtake. `US Out of NY (Wooly Mammut Version)` features guitars as chainsaws and irresistably recals very early Therapy? `False Positive` effortlessly combines all we`ve heard so far into an instrumental rollercoaster and `Dinner With My Doppleganger` invents a whole new genre of music of its own somewhere between electro hip hop and uncharted drone pop"
@ Culture Deluxe

"The new collection (Yeah, Well, Coué's Dead) is a more composed amalgamation of hypnotic, Fripp-esque guitar textures and the bending chimpgaze swirl of the finer Swirlies recordings"
@ Clicky Clicky Music Blog

"It's weird (Dinner With My Doppleganger), this is true, but in a way that seems just right."
@ Lost In Your Inbox

"On this new EP a nasty remix of US Out of NY goes for your throat in the best NIN tradition, then let go for a couple of bars filled with acoustic guitar and some piano, before attacking again with doubled enthusiasm."
@ Here Comes The Flood

"Seb Roberts should be a household name in indie circles within the next few years"
"Crisp, clear and honest production pervades throughout and each note, each beat is intended. What is overdubbed tends to be unplaceable, choleric dialogue laced with expletives leaving strong messages and even stronger music untouched by the hand of commerciality and all the better for it."

@ Culture Deluxe 'Editors Choice' 9/10

"Relishes in taking you by surprise."
@ Indie MP3 - Keeping C86 Alive

"Sinewy, spare and fragmented rock numbers that slap together spoken word, feedback, forthright grooves and profanity into a strangely arresting product"
